Our core customers are patients in NHS Urgent Treatment Centres and we are working with our partners to reduce A&E waiting lists and enhance patient care.

Urgent Care
Our urgent care service consists of dedicated and professional practitioners and staff. We strive to be acknowledged by our patients, suppliers and regulators as the leader in our sector.
Primary Care
We provide primary care services helping to improve local outcomes and reduce inequalities. Northern Health focus on health outcomes, health prevention and effective healing when patients are unwell.
Out of Hours
We support Leeds Out of Hours with our local partners - Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust & Local Care Direct. We have established ourselves as partner of choice for responsive Out of Hours services.

Pontefract Hospital

The smaller of the three hospitals, Pontefract has open access emergency care for less serious medical conditions. It also offers planned surgery, day surgery, a number of outpatient clinics and rehabilitation for people who need round the clock care but do not need to be in an acute hospital bed. Pontefract is also home to The Friarwood Birth Centre, the Trust’s first midwife led birthing unit, which has delivered more than 1200 babies since it opened.

Pinderfields Hospital

Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, is the main centre for people who are seriously ill. It is a designated Major Trauma Unit, where urgent and emergency surgery is carried out and has a helicopter landing site close to the Emergency Department. The hospital is also home to the Yorkshire Regional Spinal Injuries Centre (YRSIC), one of 12 specialist spinal injury centres in the United Kingdom. The 32 bed unit admits approximately 120 newly injured patients each year.

Dewsbury & District Hospital

The Dewsbury site is where our Mid-Yorks partners carry out planned surgery. The hospital has a busy outpatient clinic and a new multi-million pound midwife led birth unit. Dewsbury is also where rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions or who have suffered a stroke, takes place and we have a dedicated children’s assessment service to reduce the time children spend in hospital.
